2 Incredible Meditation Techniques for Spiritual Awakening
To have a spiritual awakening, it is best for you to start with an active meditation technique. An active meditation technique is something that you practice with effort.
Here is a simple meditation technique: with every breath, silently repeat the words “I am.” Repeat “I” on the inhale and “am” on the exhale.
While you do this, focus on the feeling that you exist. Not as a name or as a person. But actually feel yourself existing in this moment. Feel it as sensation, without defining it, describing it or judging it.
By using this meditation technique “I am,” your mind will keep itself focused and spiritual awakening can occur to the point where you experience yourself as awareness. You can realize “The Self” which is your experience of yourself beyond the mind and body as awareness itself, as being itself. You feel completely free of the mind and body, weightless, formless and blissful.
Once you practice this meditation technique to the point where you can experience yourself as awareness itself, it is best to move to a meditation technique which is passive.
A passive meditation technique is to simply allow everything to be as it is in this moment and feel what is here as sensation.
Allow thoughts to come and go without getting caught up in them, allow the body to be as it is and simply feel yourself existing in this moment. Allow yourself to fully experience the sensations that are arising in this moment.
With this technique, no effort should be made. You should be fully focused, but that focus is simply resting in this moment. Allowing yourself to be present with what is while at the same time, allowing everything to be as it is.
With this passive technique, you will begin to experience that everything is happening all on its own. You will see thoughts arising and disappearing on their own, the body existing on its own and even meditation happening on its own. Simply by allowing your experience to be as it is and watching, you are being meditated. This realization in itself is a great spiritual awakening.
