The Truth About Self Realization

Author: blissmusic 12.07.2010 · Posted in Mind, Personal Transformation, Spirit

There are many teachings about self realization. With the internet you can find tens of thousands of writings on self realization and spiritual enlightenment. Some of them quite wonderful and quite profound.

But because of this, self realization can be reduced to an intellectual experience by many and the opportunity for real enlightenment is lost.

Often in the Advaita circles self realization is defined with sayings like “I am the ultimate. I am already enlightened. Nothing is needed outside of myself.”

And such exclamations are wonderful if they are truly experienced. But often they become an excuse to not follow spiritual practice, to not seek out the tools and methods that are pretty much necessary to attain self realization.

So the teachings that were once there to point others to realization become an end to themselves. Self realization is reduced to a type of understanding and then it becomes about knowledge. Very subtly, knowledge and opinions take the place of truth. The intellectual mind remains dominant and the real peace that was sought after in the first place is lost.

In a nutshell, there are two experiences. There is the awareness of truly what is here in this moment beyond thinking. And there is the interpretation of what is here by the mind through thinking.

So what I want to bring you attention back to is the experience of what is truly here. Because your knowledge about what is here has nothing to do with what is truly here. If you close you eyes and really experience what is here beyond thought, it has nothing to do with thinking. Even if you experience what is here beyond thought and then you come back and try and define it and describe it with words, the truth is lost.

So you can see the dilemma, there is what is beyond the mind which is the path to self realization, and there are all of the many tricks of the mind to fool you into thinking that you are experiencing what is beyond the mind.  And so there is this constant battle of trying to be free from the clutches of the mind in order to attain self realization.

This is where Shaktipat comes in. Call it  grace, deeksha, initiation, enlightened presence, spiritual transmission; it is the subtle energy that naturally shines from one who has truly attained enlightenment.  Shaktipat  bypasses the mind completely and awakens you to truth.  It shakes the ego at the very core and begins the true process of spiritual awakening in you.

Simply by sitting in the presence of one who is enlightened, the truth is silently revealed to you. You feel the bliss that is here, the peace that is here.  And simply by allowing your attention to rest on the bliss, you naturally awaken to self realization.

It is a beautiful process, a very natural process. But then we come to the problem of finding an enlightened master to sit with, having to uproot our lives and move somewhere remote where an enlightened master lives and all of the beliefs and dogmas that you may have to take on to become a part of that organization.

But you can receive this same shaktipat through music. After a profound spiritual awakening and many years of research I have found a way to turn shaktipat into sound.

Simply by listening to beautiful meditation music on a CD, this same bliss is awakened in you. It has nothing to do with beliefs or esoteric mantras. Actual shaktipat is turned into sound making it easy for you to experience self realization on your own.

Try listening to the free samples of the music and see for yourself how it naturally awakens this bliss.  It has for thousands of others and it can for you too.  You can listen to free samples by visiting The Enlightened Spirituality Website
