Vaastu is an age-old science. Older than Vedic Period. During the Vedic period Vaastu grew as a science, namelessly. In later centuries Vaastu grew as a subject, but it was affected by the kind of architecture and rulers ruling the country. Vaastu lost its presence in north India during the rule of Muslim rulers, but still existed in Southern India. Till the mid of twentieth century, when India got freedom, this subject had lost its presence. After the independence the scholars of architecture revived the Vedic values. Vaastu Science has again established its glory in these 50 years. It is again imparting the knowledge and wisdom. Believers are growing not only in India, but all over the world.
Vaastu is a science. It deals with the laws of nature and an art of living in harmony with the nature. Vaastu is a universal subject, which would benefit each of us.
It is realty that Vaastu is an answer to BRI (Building Related Illness) and SBS (Sick Building Syndrome). It is the need of the day. According to a report of WHO that appeared in the New York Times, the scientists of USA have declared a considerable number of buildings as sick. The sickness is attributed to the disorderly arrangement of space within the built environment. Such buildings are found to be the source of mental and physical disorders.
Vaastu is the need of the day. Now it has been realized that a prior knowledge of Vaastu Science is must for the architects, engineers and interior designer. The bylaws of Vaastu relate a human being with the house and with the environment. The structural, architectural and internal setup should be as per the laws of Vaastu Science.
With the change in the architectural field and in the habit’s of people with their changing standard, Vaastu has reinterpreted the bylaws as per the demands of modernization manpower and craftsmen are being rapidly replaced by machines and automatic system with advanced technology. Now a days-new technique is used to buld housed. With modernization the system of living in and around a house completely changed.
In ancient times there were no computers, telephones, microwaves, geysers, coolers and air conditioners. But still Vaastu elaborates the placement of the above mentioned gadgets considering the five elements of nature. Thereby Vaastu has adopted to the modular design of modernization. Vaastu is very efficiently coping up with the changes and developments.
Vaastu enjoys an important status in today’s living in progressing world.
